Strathroy, Ontario—Lambton-Kent-Middlesex M.P. Bev Shipley is pleased to announce that four organizations in the riding have been approved for projects under the Enabling Accessibility Fund (EAF). The EAF works to enable Canadians with disabilities to participate in their community and the economy.
The four recipients in Lambton-Kent-Middlesex are:
-Lambton Centre in Forest where existing playground equipment will be renovated to make it accessible.
-The municipality of Chatham-Kent to renovate the Sydenham District pool washroom to make it accessible.
-Faith Pentecostal Assembly Inc. in Glencoe for the installation of a platform lift.
-Melville United Church near Ilderton for bathroom accessibility project, accessible parking, an automated door and lift and to build an accessible meeting room.
In total, Lambton-Kent-Middlesex will receive just over $180-thousand for Enabling Accessibility Fund projects.
Since its creation in 2007, the program has funded over 1400 projects across the country and has improved accessibility for thousands of Canadians.
