Canada Summer Jobs
The call for proposals for the Canada Summer Jobs Program 2019 is opening December 17, 2018 and closing January 25, 2019. Last week, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced he would be suspending the “Attestation” better known as the Liberal’s Value Test that, in 2018, caused the rejection of 1,500 Canada Summer Jobs applications. The Prime Minister’s values test has no place in Canada. Organizations should not have to agree with the ideological positions of the Liberal Party to get government funding. This is a desperate attempt at damage control for the Prime Minister heading into an election year. We will cautiously monitor the application process to ensure the rights of applicants are not infringed upon.
United Nations Global Compact for Migration
Justin Trudeau signed Canada onto the UN’s Global Compact (GCM) for Migration this week. This is a UN-led effort to set international standards and responsibilities around migration of people. This means UN globalization of Canadian sovereignty.
Conservatives have always stood up for secure borders and believe Canada must be in control of its borders and have full autonomy over who enters our country. If elected in 2019, Andrew Scheer said he will withdraw from this agreement.
This is the second time our Prime Minister gave up our sovereignty. The first being when he signed the new NAFTA which is called the USMCA. This allowed the United States and President Trump to give us approval before we enter into any trade agreements with certain developing countries.
